Borut Likar, a Head of the Department of
Innovation and Technology Management is an Associate Professor at the
University of Primorska – Faculty of Management (he is also teaching at the
University of Ljubljana) where he also worked as a Research & Development
Vice-Dean. He is also a Managing Director of the Institute for Innovation and
Technology. Prof. Likar is mainly focused on management of creativity, innovation
processes, R&D and technology in business organisations as well as
innovation in educational system. Prof. Likar is the author of many scientific
and expert publications. Borut Likar is the author of numerous books primarily pertinent
to the field of innovation and R&D management. He is the founder of the
national association of innovative youth. He is an innovator, initiator and the
head of several successful R&D - national and EU projects as well as the
author of countless patents, models and copyright works, which many proved to
be extremely marketable. Among numerous lectures he has given, the talks at the
United Nations' headquarters in Geneva and at the European Parliament in
Brussels. more

Borut
Likar is a Head of the Department of Innovation and Technology Management and an
Associate Professor at the University of Primorska–Faculty of Management, where
he also worked as a Research & Development Vice-Dean. He is also a Managing
Director of the Institute for Innovation and Technology. Borut Likar achieved
his PhD in electro-technical sciences at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering,
University of Ljubljana (where he is currently also teaching) and completed his
MBA studies at the IEDC – Bled School of Management. As
a researcher he is also a member of an interdisciplinary programme group.
He
is mainly focused on management of innovation processes, R&D and technology
in business organisations as well as innovation in educational system. He
developed a comprehensive concept of a national society of innovative youth.
Prof. Likar was invited to present the said concept at the United Nations’
headquarters as one of the best European concepts as well as at the Closing
Conference of the European Year of Creativity in Stockholm. Moreover, Prof.
Likar is the author of almost 200 scientific and expert publications. He is an
innovator and a recipient of many national and international awards for his
innovations. He also received the Prometheus
of Science for Excellence in Communication awarded by the Slovenian
Science Foundation. Moreover, he is the initiator and the head of over 100
successful basic research, applied, technological and other national and EU
projects (ARRS, Phare, ESF, Leonardo da Vinci, contracts with Ministries,
National Chamber of Commerce; national and multinational corporations...) as
well as cooperation with the economy with a budget of a few million
Euros.
Furthermore,
he is the author of eight patents, countless models and copyright works, many
of which proved to be extremely marketable. Likar is the author of numerous
books primarily pertinent to the field of innovation and R&D management and
other higher education manuals representing a comprehensive and basic
literature in the field of innovation in Slovenia. He is the founder of the
national association of innovative youth and one of the initiators of the
University Incubator of Primorska. He is also active as an evaluator of the EU
projects, guest speaker, reviewer of scientific publications, and a
chair/editor of numerous (inter)national scientific conferences and
publications.
